Lehane’s style reminds coronao strongly of Stephen King’s, both sharing the talent to master mundane scenes and the ability to touch on the idiosyncrasies of characters, which make the story seem very relevant and authentic.

Want to Read saving…. A couple of the stories were really riveting and a couple left me feeling like I had missed something big.

It quickly becomes apparent that Bobby’s father has retrieved him only to find out where the heist loot is hidden, and Bobby, in turn, needs to know what happened to his girlfriend, Gwen.


Unfortunately, personally, majority of the stories were average or below average. However, this contained none of his compelling aspects for me. As a big fan of Lehane, coronaco collection of stories failed to make an impression on me. I don’t know whether I was less satisfied with this book because it didn’t live up to what I was expecting from Lehane or if the book isn’t that good I sometimes wonder if I’ve got the intellect to decide that sort of thing -I rather suspect I don’t, I just know what I likebut either way, I was left wanting him to return to stories like Mystic River or Gone Baby Gone, both of dwnnis are great books in their way.

This was an odd read for me. The play, written in two acts, is based on the previous story. His thriller compellingly races towards a dramatic and poignant finale.

Story 1 is a interesting little tale of 2 friends, 1 girl, guns, etc.
